Von der Coeur Kennels  was started in 1997 by myself, Amanda, and started with an exceptional black and tan male, that was the epitomy of the German Shepherd.   This one dog gave me a glimpse of the talent, intelligence,  and undying loyalty this breed possesed.  I was definately spoiled by how good he was in every situation, from an infant to the elderly, yet had an on/off  switch, like a true shepherd should have.  

My forever goal, as a breeder, is to offer the same joy and pleasure, that I have recieved from a well bred shepherd.    Our shepherds are family members first, that also have the ability to work, or do sport.  

Von Der Coeur is primarily focused on offering the temperment of the original shepherd.  One that is a family dog, with great intelligence, that can be easily trained in any avenue, whether it is Agility, Search and Rescue, Narcotics, Patrol  work,  or Schutzhund.  We also, focus on having the body structure of the original shepherds.  Longer than tall, and with out the extreme angulations.  We firmly believe that the original conformation is the correct one, and lends the dog to a healthier,  more physically capable life.    The goal in each litter is to match the individual personalities of the puppies to the needs of the person.    

Our breeding program is focused on combining some of the best of all bloodlines whether being German, Czech and working and showlines.  Each litter is carefully planned so that we may monitor their progess and do the best we can to enchance and further the breed.

I have also titled four dogs in Schutzhund and currently working several of our other dogs in the sport. Several of our offspring have gone onto be titled in Schutzhund and some currently being trained in Home Protection and other dog sports.
